Covington also has an amazing amount of things to do. If you love to fish, the Glenn Springs Lake is the place for you. Construction began on this lake in September 1991. This 330 acre lake has a fully equipped lake store, picnic pavilions and a manager ' s building with storage and restrooms. The lake is stocked with bass, bluegill and catfish.

The Tipton Arts Council owns and maintains the historic Ruffin Theater in order to provide excellent stage productions, musicals and a variety of entertainment for the entire family. Annual events include Hee-Haw Howdy Show that benefits the American Cancer Society, a performance by the Germantown Sympathy orchestra, four stage productions per year, on high school production per year, the Miss Tipton County Scholarship Pageant and a show by the Cathy Sims Dancers that benefits various charities.

The Tipton County Bar-b-Que Festival, is held each year in Cobb Parr Memorial Park in October. Events include a bar-b-que cooking contest, a demolition derby, arts and crafts exhibits, a truck pull, live bands and many other fun activities. Since its origin in 1973, the festival has grown to be the main annual attraction in Covington . Teams from all over the mid-south come to Covington to compete in this three day event. Spectators have also grown in number.
